Our trek had an excellent start with a long soak in the Lares hot springs. That warm water felt so good and was so relaxing.
In some parts of the trail there were big herds of alpacas and llamas. The folks that we met were very friendly, although life in high in the Andes cannot be very easy. And it gets chilly as soon as the sun goes down.
The second day had the most spectacular views, I think. Of course, nothing could be more spectacular than Machu Picchu. I’ll never forget our visit to that Inca masterpiece. And I think our way of getting there, by hiking along the Lares Trail was the absolute best.
We had a wonderful adventure. Every day was completely different. A great way to get to Machu Picchu. Thank you very much, Travel 1.
