Here you will see a large complex of circular terraces which historians believe were used to study climatic conditions and to adapt different types of crops from all different places in their Empire, from the jungle to the high Andes. As you descend the terraces, the temperatures rise gradually little by little. Incan wise men had extraordinary knowledge concerning climates and microclimates. Eight days of wonder and beauty is how I would describe this tour. It sure was an eye-opener. I never knew that the Andes were so steep, or that the building methods of the Incas were so intricate. Besides Machu Picchu I think that my favorite place was Ollantaytambo. It seems like the terraces are reaching up to the sky there. I would really like to thank the Travel 1 team. I did give them a pretty good tip, but they deserved every penny of it and more. They took the hassle out of navigating in a Spanish based culture. I always felt safe and comfortable.
We had a great time visiting all the Incan places. I especially liked the ruins above Pisac. Everything on this tour was very well organized. The Travel 1 Tours team was very knowledgeable about the history and the traditions of the inhabitants of the area. We always felt safe and well-taken-care- of. So I would highly recommend this package if you only have a short time to stay in Peru.
