Upon arrival at the Jorge Chávez International Airport in the city of Lima, you will be met by our team and be driven in our private Mercedes Van to your hotel in the most exclusive neighborhood in Lima, Miraflores.
After you arrive and check in you have the day off. You can relax and get acquainted with the vibrant city of Lima, the capital of Peru. It was founded in 1535 by the conquistador Francisco Pizarro.
In the evening around 6 o clock you will have a briefing regarding the details of your tours for the next sixteen days. After the introduction to your itinerary, the adventure begins. Feel free to explore Miraflores, the most exclusive residential area of the city of Lima.
Today we begin with tours in Lima. We welcome you to Peru, a country of incredible contrasts and amazing treasures.
The city tour this morning will be through Colonial Lima. Lima has a 2000 year history that will amaze you. We begin in the colonial center of the city which was declared part of the Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO for its historic buildings. Around the Plaza de Armas you will visit the imposing Palacio del Arzobispo, the opulent Government Palace, the official residence of the President, and the 16th century Cathedral of Lima.
Then continue to the Monastery of San Francisco where we will see a complex of magnificent tiles of the seventeenth century. Inside this magnificent temple we can appreciate an ornate carved ceiling, exceptional paintings and a world-renowned library. Then returning to our hotel we will have a panoramic view of the “Pirámide Huaca Pucllana”. This is a magnificent ceremonial and archaeological center built in the 4th century AD. It was considered a “sacred place” by the Incas. After the brief explanation we will return to our hotel. In the afternoon you will have free time.
If you wish to continue discovering the impressive culture of Peru, you can participate in the optional tours to the Larco Herrera Museum. This is considered to be the best museum in Lima. It is located in a restored 18th century mansion. Here you can admire the world’s largest collection of pre-Columbian masterpieces and an impressive display of priceless gold and silver jewelery.
The morning is free time to explore the vibrant city of Lima. Around midday we will catch the bus and depart on our four-hour trip to Paracas. This seaside town has a beautiful bay which is rich in marine life. Paracas is full of ancestral mysteries that remain unsolved.
Upon arrival we will check in to our hotel and take a break. In the evening you can enjoy the tranquility of the place and explore the colorful Paracas dock area on foot.
The flight over the enigmatic Nazca Lines begins at thel Capitán FAP Renán Elias Olivera Airport in Pisco. From your hotel in Paracas you will be picked up at your hotel and driven in our private Mercedes van to the Pisco airport.
At the Pisco airport you will take off and begin your one hour and 40 minute flight out to the Nazca desert and over the Lines. Along the way you will have the chance to see the vineyards of Ica, the magnificent Ocucaje Valley, the sand dunes out in the desert, and the fertile costal valleys where the Nazca and Paracas cultures flourished long ago. The centerpiece, of course, will be the sight of the hundreds of lines and figures representing plants, animals, and geometric shapes out on the desert of Jumana & San José.
When you land in Pisco after your flight, we will drive you back to your hotel in Paracas. In the afternoon you will have free time to explore on your own.
In the morning, after a good breakfast we will prepare to explore the wildlife of the Ballestas Islands. Normally we will ride the boat out to the Ballestas Islands during the morning hours when the sea is calm. During the tour you will appreciate the mysterious figure of the Paracas Candelabra. No one knows for sure the mystery that this figure hides. Then we will go to the Ballestas Islands where we can observe the great diversity of the flora and fauna in its natural state. This tour lasts 2 hours. After the tour we will return to Paracas. Next we will continue with the tour to the Tacama Vineyards, the first vineyard in South America. Lunch will be served at the Tacama Vineyard where we will observe the prize grape vines. (The Pisco Sour is the national drink of Peru).
Then we will go to Huacachina. Our tour begins on the shores of the Huacachina Lagoon. From this point we will drive our dune buggy towards the desert where there are a whole lot of sand dunes. Here we will drive up the hiighest sand dune and ride down on a personal sandboard. The Ica desert in Huacachina offers some of the most beautiful desert landscapes in South America and contains whimsical sand formations formed by the wind.
After the tour we will continue with our trip to the city of Nazca. Upon arrival our team will help you check in to your hotel where you can rest comfortably after an exating day
After eating breakfast we will explore the Aqueducts of Cantoyoc which are a half hour out of Nazca.
Soon after that you will return to Nazca to have lunch. After lunch we will resume our trip on the Panamerican Highway. We will travel through the deserts and valleys of Peru’s south coast, along the Pacific shore. When we approach the White City of Arequipa, we will head inland, cross the dessert and start climbing the Andes. (It’s about an 8 to 9 hour journey).
The White City of Arequipa is crowned by the three volcanoes: Misti, Chachani and Pichu Pichu. The majestic White City will present to you its extraordinary architecture and its dream-like landscapes. On this seventh day we will enjoy one of the most beautiful colonial cities in the world.
We will begin our tour with a visit to the Convent of Santa Catalina. Founded in 1579 as a cloistered convent, it initially housed a small number of religious women from the local elite. Discover It’s beautiful buildings with your guide.
Our tour of the city continues with a visit to the Church of the Society of Jesus. This grandiose church will surprise us with its Baroque facade and its impressive sacristy which is meticulously decorated with vividly colored murals.
After this visit, we will go to the Mirador del Carmen which is 10 minutes from downtown. From here, we can enjoy a spectacular view of the Valley of the Chili River and the majestic Misti Volcano. Then we will go to the historical neighborhood of Yanahuara to walk through its narrow cobbled streets and see its old mansions. Here we can also admire its beautiful church that was built in 1750. From here you will admire the white buildings of Arequipa which were built out of volcanic Sillar. (White stone)
After breakfast, early in the morning, we will leave behind the White City of Arequipa to follow the route that will take us to the Colca Valley. We will pass by snow-capped volcanoes, inhospitable pampas and picturesque villages of unusual beauty.
During this amazing trip we will make some stops. The first stop will be in the Aguada Blanca National Reserve where the rugged plains are home to innumerable guanacos, alpacas and vicuñas.
Then we will continue our trip along the adge of the crater of the Chucura volcano until we reach the Patapampa Andes viewpoint. From here at 4,900 meters above sea level, we can observe the peaks of the snow-capped mountains and the different volcanoes that surround Arequipa, including the Hualca Calca, the Sabancaya and the Ampato.
Our next stop will be the town of Chivay. (This is near where the Colca Valley begins). Here you will witness an impressive system of terraces that was built by its former inhabitants, the Collaguas and Cabanas. After lunch, you are going to check in to your hotel
In the afternoon you will have free time to explore on your own, or you can visit the hot springs of the Calera.
Very early in the morning we will go to the overlook of the Cross of the Condor. From here you will feel the overwhelming immensity of this Canyon. The Cross of the Condor is considered the best place in the world to observe the majestic flight of the wild Andean Condor. This imposing bird is in danger of extinction. From this point, we can contemplate one of the deepest canyons on the planet.
After the tour, we will have lunch and set out on an scenic journey of approximately six hours. You will travel through the vast Peruvian altiplano until we reach the shores of the highest navigable lake in the world, Lake Titicaca.
The trip begins in the Colca Valley and after a few minutes we will arrive at Mirador de los Andes. Next we will follow the route that skirts the Chucura volcano until we reach Pampa Cañahuas which is a rugged plain that is part of the Aguada Blanca National Reserve. Its bucolic landscape is covered with ichu grass. A few kilometers away we will see the great Stone Forest of Imata. When we arrive at Lagunillas we will be able to observe a whole bunch of different species of Andean and migratory birds.
At the end of the day we will arrive at the mythical city of Puno which is built on the shores of Lake Titicaca.
Enjoy the high plateau on a boat trip on Lake Titicaca, visiting the floating islands of the Uros and Taquile, where it seems that time has stopped.
On our epic tour we will go out boat riding on Lake Titicaca. We’ll visit the Floating Islands of the Uros and the Island of Taquile. The trip out to the Floating Islands is really fascinating. The natives make the floatings islands out of the totora reeds which grow in the shallow parts of the lake. Out of these reeds they can produce just about everything that they need to live comfortably out in the middle of the lake.
In the morning we will head over to the port, board our motor launch, and ride out to the Island of Taquile. We will enjoy a 2 and a half hour tour of this island which has been ranked the 4th most beautiful island in the world. Here we will visit the isolated weavers of this ancient community.
We are going to return along the traditional route. We will leave Taquile at around noon and head in the direction of the Chucuito Peninsula. This is the Aymara region of the Lake and represents the communal identity of the Peruvian – Bolivian Altiplano. We will eat a wonderful buffet lunch in the community of Luquina Chico.
Later in the afternoon we will visit the Floating Islands of the Uros on our way back to Puno. Here the natives maintain their ancient customs and way of life.
This program allows our clients to visit new tourist attractions which very few vistors know about. Since this is a non-traditional tour, our clients are very satisfied. In this way you can get a good sense of the daily life of the people in rural Peru.
Early in the morning we will leave the city of Puno on board a comfortable bus to Cusco. During this epic tour of approximately 10 hours, we will enjoy some of the most beautiful Andean landscapes.
Travel along the Route of the Sun to the heart of the Inca Empire. On the Puno – Cusco route, we will make some stops at the most important tourist attractions. We will visit the town of Pucará which is known for the production of ceramics such as the famous Toritos de Pucará (The Bulls of Pucara). The “torito” has a magic and religious value among Andean people. It’s seen as a symbol of procreation of the flocks, of happy marriages, of fertility in homes and the protection of houses.
Later we will cross the pass of La Raya (4335 masl) the highest point of the journey. Our next stop will be in Racchi where we will see one of the most important buildings of the Inca Empire. Racchi is an important archaeological site where the temple of Wiracocha is located. It’s a large rectangular structure. During the journey along the Route of the Sun you will not only be able to appreciate some fantastic tourist attractions, but at the same time you can enjoy the purely Andean environment and its changing weather patterns.
The last stop of our tour before reaching the city of Cusco will be Andahuaylillas where we will visit one of the most unique churches in the Andes which known as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas. This chapel will dazzle us with its murals and beautifully decorated frescoes that cover the walls, baseboards, ceilings and doorways. Finally we arrive at the beautiful city of Cusco.
Today the City Tour begins in the impressive Colonial Cathedral of Cusco. This iconic place contains more than 400 paintings from the School of Fine Arts of Cusco, as well as an impressive collection of colonial art. Inside the Cathedral you will be surprised by the colonial paintings and the Cross of the Conquest. Then we will continue by visiting the Temple of the Sun, the Coricancha. According to the historians this was the most sacred place in the Inca Empire.
After the Coricancha tour we will travel to the outskirts of the city where we will visit the immense Sacsayhuaman fortress. This impressive fortress, consisting of individual stones weighing more than 100 tons, took more than seven decades to complete. This site is an excellent example of Inca military architecture. Its huge stone walls marvel all visitors who come to contemplate them.
During the City Tour we will go to Quenco amphitheater, a mysterious limestone formation decorated with intricately carved representations of mythical entities. We can also visit the Baths of the Inca at Tambomachay. Finally before returning to Cusco we can stop and buy some local crafts. The duration of the tour is approximately 5 hours
The tour of the Sacred Valley is a fascinating, full day tour. We will pick you up at your hotel in the morning. Our first stop is Awanacancha, a South American textile and camelid exhibition center. Awanacancha is a living museum of the Andes that is committed to keeping the traditional methods and ancestral techniques of weavings textiles alive.
Then we continue with our tour to Pisaq village and Pisaq Archeological Center. The Pisaq ruins comprise human settlement with all its essential services such as platforms, aqueducts, houses, religious centers and a cemetery. There is a strange relationship between the distances that separate the cities of Pisaq, Cusco and Pikillacata.
During the Sacred Valley tour you can enjoy lunch in a local community of the Sacred Valley. Here you can taste the true flavor of Andean products and see the originality of their textiles and crafts. When you finish lunch you will continue on to Ollantaytambo. At this archeological site you will enjoy a peaceful afternoon at this Inca fortress. It was built in the Inca Imperial period. That means during the reigns of Pachacutec, Inca Yupanqui and Wayna Capac.
After the tour you will go to the train station and take the scenic train to Machu Picchu pueblo. Upon arrival our team will take you to your hotel.
One of the most special days of our journey beguins in the morning after breakfast. We will go with our guide to catch the bus that will take us to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
The amazing citadel of Machu Picchu is known as the “Lost City of the Incas”. On July 7, 2007, It was elected to be one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Machu Picchu was practically unknown to the western world until it was rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911.
When you enter the Citadel of Machu Picchu you will have a private guided tour for 3 hours. On this tour you will visit the most important points of Machu Picchu. This includes the imposing Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Priest, the Sacred Square and the Ushno. This was carved and probably was used as a sundial by the ancient Incas.
After the tour you will have free time to take some great photos which will be a lasting treasure when you return home. You will be amazed by the beauty of Machu Picchu. In the afternoon you will return to Aguas Calientes for a fantastic lunch at Inkaterra. Next you will catch the scnic train to Ollantaytambo or Poroy. Our team will meet you at the train station and take you to your hotel. There you can enjoy a well-deserved rest after a day of many emotions.
In the mornig after breakfast we will take you to the Cusco airport. There you will catch your flight to Puerto Maldonado.

Welcome to Puerto Maldonado. Begin to experience the enchantment of the rainforest, as you take a 45-minute boat ride along the Madre de Dios River to arrive at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica lodge. On your first day, we recommend a guided walk along the Trail system, into the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica natural area, where you will discover the Amazon Basin. This trail offers an excellent introduction to the jungle environment, winding past impressive trees such as the Shihuahuaco, and the strangely beautiful
strangler fig, offering excellent opportunities for bird watching and observing exotic insects.
Enjoy the dinner, served in the main dining room from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. After dinner, you may retire early to your own cabaña, or join us to talk about your experience in the rainforest, as you listen to the intriguing sounds of the jungle at night
Wake up late or rise early — the choice is yours. Breakfast begins early, for those who want to avoid the heat and enjoy
nature at its fullest. A full buffet breakfast is served from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
This morning you may visit the Lake Sandoval excursion into the Tambopata National Reserve. Glide in a wooden canoe, across
a beautiful, mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter, as well as red howler monkeys, red-bellied
macaws, anacondas, side-neck turtles and black caimans. Return to the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica for lunch.
After lunch, consider visit the remarkable Inkaterra Canopy Walkway and Anaconda Walk. Ascending the first tower, 29 meters
above the forest ground, you begin your encounter with the treetop realm. For more than a quarter of a mile, you will literally
walk through the rainforest canopy on a suspension bridge network linking eight observation platforms.
During this hour-and-a-half expedition, be on the lookout for bright toucans, woodpeckers, trogons, monkeys and the three-toed sloth. If you wish you may extend your excursion and appreciate the sunset from one of the towers. After your descent from the Canopy, experience the Anaconda Walk for about 30 minutes along the 200-meter wooden bridge over the Aguajales swamps. In this lush eco system, you may observe the various species of amphibians, birds, mammals, abundant flora, trees and there is a possibility to see snakes of this flooded marshland. The walk finishes by returning to the lodge.
Once at the lodge, enjoy the daily nature presentation in the Eco Center. Dinner starts at 7:30 p.m.
Your final morning at the lodge will be free time to do whatever you like. Enjoy a full breakfast before departure. A 45-minute
return trip by boat on the Madre de Dios River takes you to Puerto Maldonado, where you will visit the Butterfly House. Peru boasts the greatest variety of butterflies in the world, with 3,700 known species. Many of these can be seen at the Butterfly House, a showcase for the variety, beauty and adaptability of these fascinating insects Finally, on thre boat ride back to Puerto Maldonado you will be able to witness the grand biodiversity of the Amazon jungle.
From Puerto Maldonado you will fly to the City of Kings. Once you arrive at the Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima our TRAVEL 1 team will be on hand to pick you up and take you to your hotel. They will drive you to the most exclusive neighborhood in Lima, Miraflores. The rest of the day is free.
